Sad days in Ottawa when stalwart members of the piping and drumming community pass away; you think back to when you last saw or spoke to them, and you hope you're doing well by their standards....this past week saw us lose John Kerr, a drummer noted by many as one of the best and very innovative for his time, and Ted Moffatt, piping teacher and fellow bandmate of mine in the Cameron Highlanders....they shall both be missed.

Best of luck to all the competitors and the guests to the Mod in Scotland this week- our own Ar n-Oran Gaelic Choir is travelling to Stornoway to compete at the Mod, and we wish them all the best of luck!  The Mod in Canada takes place November 19 in Ottawa. Visit www.gaidhligottawa.ca for more information on this event or to join up with the Gaelic Society here in Ottawa.
